Spirit of Giving - Mission Hospital, Mission Viejo, Orange County, California. The Spirit of Giving is an idea from Mission Hospital about serving each other in meaningful ways as part of our daily lives.
Some people demonstrate this through thoughtful acts. Some do so through volunteering their time and talent. Still others do it through
philanthropy. The ways to show your Spirit of Giving are endless. The Spirit of Giving is an integral part of Mission Hospital's culture
and reflects the values that guide our daily activities. We believe that sharing and promoting this culture throughout Orange County will
help create a closer sense of community and enable individuals to live happier, healthier lives. The program is Mission Hospital’s call to
all Orange County residents to demonstrate their Spirit of Giving in their own unique way through a simple act of kindness or good deed.
During the coming year and a half, we are seeking to accomplish a total of more than 100,000 combined acts of giving between the hospital
and the Orange County community. To help kick-start and capture the Spirit of Giving, Mission Hospital is presenting a series of acts – such
as giving a flower to a stranger – as examples of the powerful and uplifting impact that good deeds, no matter how simple or complex, can
have on individuals and our community. Orange County community members in turn can log on to spiritofgiving.org and share their own
experiences with acts given or received. Through spiritofgiving.org, the Orange County community can also check out other personal stories,
vote on future acts of giving, and learn about the Spirit of Giving street teams and where they will be next. They can also see which Orange
County communities are the most giving and participate in a variety of online community chats, message boards and more.
