The Spirit of Giving street team is comprised of Mission Hospital representatives and volunteers who are trained to support the 100,000 Acts of Giving effort. All told, the team includes 10 groups of five members each.
As part of the 100,000 Acts of Giving, team members are taking to the streets of Orange County to help demonstrate the power a kind gesture can have in making an individual’s day brighter. Major team “deeds” – like giving out 100,000 flowers countywide – are planned to occur about once a quarter beginning in February 2005 and continuing for the next 18 months. During that time, other team activities will include visits to local schools, senior centers, businesses and much more.
All participating team members have been recruited by Mission Hospital using a rigorous screening process. Individuals receive detailed training that prepares them to appropriately carry out specific Acts of Giving in the community. They also get specialized instruction on the values and ideals that are integral to Spirit of Giving and Mission Hospital.
